Bullying. Bullies. Bull. Can you tell what my hot button is? When I was a child. (Dirt was new of course.) Sure we had bullies. There have always been bullies but bullying has reached epidemic proportions. There are discussions and forums. There are committees and groups. There are trainings and programs. There are many questions, one problem and no answers. I don’t know about you, but when it reaches my doorstep, it better back off.
Here’s the very consistent nature of bullying. You have a bully, a young boy or girl who has energy with no focus, has a heart but is heartless, cares to control others but cares less about those they control. This is dangerous! A bully is like the core of a huge fire. The flame is bright at the top but at its inner core is nothing but darkness. We can do all that we can to prevent bullies from bullying and we will have a degree of success. But I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure if most bullies are very receptive to anti-bully programs. Are thieves open to anti-theft? The only people we can reach are those who are reachable.
